A lot of players think improvement in baseball comes from one big moment. One great game. One coach noticing them. But the truth is, most progress in this game happens slowly.
From when I started playing baseball until about college, I was consistently not the most talented player. Remember, I hit one home run in my entire career. But the reason I was able to get drafted came from showing up and getting a little bit better every day.
One of my favorite quotes from James Clear is: “It doesn’t matter how successful or unsuccessful you are right now. What matters is whether your habits are putting you on the path toward success.”

Focus on the little things:

✅ One extra ground ball after practice
✅ Listening and making small adjustments
✅ Giving full effort every rep

If your habits are making you even 1% better each day, that adds up fast. The players who stay consistent are the ones who eventually separate themselves.
